Perfecting the Power Pass

What is the power pass and why is it important?

The purpose of the power pass is to turn the patient over to the financial coordinator. The financial coordinator receives all of the information that is needed regarding treatment, including the agreement that the doctor and patient have reached about doing the treatment and when treatment should begin.

The result of a great power pass is a patient who works with the financial coordinator to find a way to pay for treatment so that they can begin treatment right away!

Steps of the Power Pass

Introduce the patient to the financial coordinator. Make it clear to the patient that the financial coordinator’s role is to help patients with the financial side of the treatment they have just agreed upon.

Restate the treatment, the need for the treatment, and the patient’s agreement to have the treatment done.

Instruct the financial coordinator to work with the patient to create a plan that will allow the patient to enter into treatment as soon as possible.

Make an agreement with the financial coordinator and the patient for the next appointment time, with two options and/or a deadline. As the doctor leaves the treatment room, he/she should tell the patient that the financial coordinator will take great care of them and they will look forward to seeing them before the deadline time given.

Sample Script for the Power Pass – Adult Patients

“Hi Amanda, perfect timing! Amanda, this is Karen. Karen, this is Amanda. Amanda is our office expert on handling the financial side of treatment. She is also our insurance expert! Amanda, Karen and I have just finished discussing her need for treatment. She’s done a home sleep test and we’ve taken a CT. The results were concerning. Karen is an excellent candidate for treatment with the Vivos System. Karen, Amanda is going to go over the financials with you! When you’re finished, we will finalize a few more records and get you started!”

Success in Chicago

Thank you to all of our AMAZING teams that attended our Airway Integration Tour in Chicago last Friday.

We had a blast, and we hope you did too!

We want to thank all the doctors and teams who attended the Airway Integration tour in Denver, Dallas, Salt Lake City, Houston, Nashville, Philadelphia, Charlotte, Orange County, Sacramento, Bend, and Chicago! They were challenged to screen as many patients as they could as part of their training. As a collective, these providers have done 3,189 screenings with the VivoScore so far! Out of these screenings, 43 percent of patients had OSA. Even more exciting, they have submitted 222 RXs so far!
