Can I get started without my photo grid?

The answer is YES-you can absolutely get started while you are awaiting the arrival of your grid. Here are few things you can do while you are waiting for your grid.

Identify a white/or light-colored wall for your photos. You will want this to be the wall you will use once your grid comes in. When you take photos, take it at the same spot for your initial treatment as well as mid treatment and final records.

Put a piece of tape on the floor so your patients will be standing in the same place, in front of the same wall, at the same distance from the wall everytime. Now you are ready to take your photos.

Once your grid arrives, go ahead and place it up against the wall you have been taking your photos in front of. Your floor should already be marked and you can continue to take your patient photos.

Here are a few reminders around taking clinical photographs to help you get started.

Purpose of Clinical Photographs

Purpose of Clinical Photographs: Clinical Photographs are used to aid the doctor diagnostically in creating the best treatment plan for a patient. They are also used as a baseline and to track progress as a patient moves through treatment. Clinical Photographs are part of the Diagnostic Records and need to be of high quality and must be kept as part of the clinical records.

Equipment Recommendations

It is very important that all Clinical Records are of diagnostic quality. Clinical records are used to determine the patient treatment plan and to track clinical progress. Taking good records takes time and practice. All team members need to be skilled and proficient at taking high quality records. When learning, team members should practice on each other and other team members until they are confident and able to produce top quality work

Taking Full Body Posture Photos

Best Practices to help you:

• Use the Grid Photo Background

• Stand back just far enough to be able to show slightly about the head, down to the feet

• Camera should be level – not tilted up or down

• You will need to adjust your distance, based upon the height of the person being photographed

If you have not yet received your grid you can still take these pictures against a white light colored wall.
